At lemonjelly Childcare Solutions we offer you a varied range of in-home childcare.

Nanny

Employing a nanny has many benefits; children are cared for in their own environment by a professional who will provide lots of learning opportunities as well as support a child’s emotional and social development, all in a safe loving environment. It also gives parents the flexibility and security needed to enable them to go back to work. Nannies will often keep a daily diary informing parents of the day’s events, the child’s development and any other important information

Nannies will either have a qualification and/or experience. They will usually work Monday to Friday, between 10-12hrs a day and be either live in or daily. They are not responsible for general housework but are required to keep the children’s areas clean and tidy and do their laundry, ironing and cooking – these are known as Nursery duties

Nanny/Housekeeper

A Nanny/ housekeeper is best suited for a family with older children at school. A Nanny/housekeeper will be responsible for the care of the children, school runs, help with homework and afterschool care but their role will also encompass the day to day running of the family home, cleaning, laundry and cooking.

Parent Help

Essentially a second pair of hands, helping parents look after the children. A parent help will work closely with mum/dad following their direction and guidance assisting with childcare duties, until experience has been gained and then they can be given sole charge. Parent helps are either newly or partly qualified or have less than 2 years experience, this position is usually the first step for someone embarking on a career as a nanny.

The salary of a parent help is lower than that of a nanny due to their lesser experience, responsibility and fewer skills

Night Nanny

Night Nannies may live in but usually live out and will work between 1-6 nights per week. Most will work from between 8 to 10 p.m. until 7 to 8 a.m. and be off duty during the day. They specialise in establishing routines and getting wakeful babies to sleep through the night.

Maternity Nurse

A Maternity Nurse is a dedicated professional who is experienced in newborn babies and the care of mums. They offer support, guidance and help to parents in the first few weeks following the birth of a new baby. They will develop a 24 hour routine for the baby focusing on effective feeding and sleeping patterns and ensuring that the new baby settles quickly and easily into family life. She will also ensure that the mother is well-looked after, getting enough sleep and eating and drinking properly. A maternity nurse will also undertake the baby’s laundry and can help with essential purchases – and advise on the non-essential! Maternity nurses are a great option for first time parent.

Maternity Nurses will work 24 hours a day for up to six days a week and can be booked depending on your requirements. Daily maternity nurses live out and usually work between 10 and 12 hours per day up to six days per week. Daily maternity nurses have the same knowledge and experience and are ideal for families who have limited space or who prefer not to have someone living in.

Maternity Nanny

Maternity nannies are very experienced nannies with expertise in caring for newborn babies. Maternity nannies can live in or out and will work long days they will also take care of night feeding if required too. A maternity nanny can be a good option for families where there are other siblings, because she will happily look after either the baby or entertain and care for the older siblings, do school runs and generally muck in where needed.
