‘Did you know that there are over 9000 visible stars in our night sky but this is a tiny proportion of the estimated 200 – 400 billion that make up the Milky Way? Light pollution in our cities means we rarely see more than a small fraction of our celestial neighbours, but that’s where Science Oxford can help. In our inflatable planetarium you can see the night sky as it really is.’
You will be shown how to navigate the stars, how the movement of the Earth creates night and day and how the sky changes through the seasons.
Hop on board the ghost train and head through the creepy tunnel to the Pleasure Gardens where a bone-anza of activities are to be found. Families can lurk around the Labyrinth and hunt for the friendly zombie. There will be a host of treats on offer at the Pleasure Gardens Pizza Cafe including toffee apples, our seasonal Pumpkin pizza, and a complimentary ice-scream with any children’s pizza purchased during these dates!
