What’s on during the Summer Holidays

We all need a summer of fun and days out to look forward to, so we have put together our top suggestions of things to do with your little ones during the summer holidays.

Millets farm

The maize maze is back and this year the theme is…Bees!

Maize Maze – opening on 20th July

2 giant maize mazes, 3 woodlands, fort maze and courtyard areas; Become a beekeeper, discover the honey thief and feast on the bees banquet on your quest to complete the quizzes within each area! You will be given your quiz pack when you arrive at the maze entrance, ready to explore and play the games they have to offer, so prepare to be a-mazed!

Millets Mini Makers – Tuesday 27th & Wednesday 28th July  (book online)

On the workshop the children will get very hands on making a delicious selection of sweet and savoury goodies to take home & enjoy!

Roarsome Fun – Thursday 29th July (book online)

45 minutes worth of craft and entertainment. Children will each paint their own dinosaur money bank, create a dinosaur mask all followed by a range of interactive games & stories. 

Also at Millets you will find, Pick your own, animal walkway, play area, falconry and sprouts play barn.

Pick your own fruit and veg and enjoy a slice of cake in the farm café.

The Beach at Notcutts

The Beach is back! Giant sand pit, funfair rides and entertainment.

A place for people of all abilities and disabilities

Blenheim Palace 

Adventures in the Walled Garden are perfect for all the family. Explore the butterfly house, Marlborough Maze and play area and finish your visit with a trip to the pizza café.

Camp Wilderness, offering back-to-basics 3 & 5 Day residential camping experiences for children aged 8 – 14 years, in the heart of our historic woodland.

Bushcraft Activities – 17th July – 4th September

Try your hand at Target Sports with Archery & Tomahawk throwing with Camp Wilderness. Participants need to be 8+ years old, adults are encouraged to have a go too!

Giffords Circus – The Hooley

22nd July – 2nd August 2021

Join Giffords Circus as they return once again to Stonor Park.  Join their dance to timeless Celtic rhythms and drums and get down with the fairy folk as Giffords Circus and going to kick up a Hooley.

Waddesdon Manor

Waterperry Gardens  – Beauty and the Beast

Following their sell-out success with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, IKP return with a brand new, “delightfully daft” (The Stage) retelling of the classic story Beauty and the Beast. This enchanting production promises to be fast-paced, family-friendly and fun so prepare to be amazed and amused as IKP give this tale of adventure and acceptance their trademark ‘bonkers’ treatment. Stoner Park

With 10 acres of fun and adventure at Tumblestone Hollow and the Gardens at Stonor to explore we’re certain you’re in for a great day of fun and fabulous play together.

Tumblestone Hollow has been designed for children and families to play together. It is suitable for all ages but will be enjoyed by younger children up to around 12 years of age.

Cogges Farm

The farmyard, garden, picnic and play areas are all open every day from 9.30am – 4.30pm.

Plus throughout the summer there will be;

  • Outdoor theatre production of Shakespear’s Much Ado About Nothing on 20th July.
  • Woodland club – outdoor fun, mud kitchens, den building, bug hunting and marshmallow toasting. for children aged 3yrs to 11yrs
  • Drama Taster Day with Cogges Creatives – Free drama project offering sessions for 14-17 year olds.

Odds Farm

Meet some new furry friends, explore the new adventure fort and sand/water pplay area, enjoy some mini golf and have fun in the massive adventure play barn.

Bekonscot model village and railway

Bekonscot has an exciting programme of summer events planned.

  • On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July, children’s author and railway enthusiast Christopher Vine will be running interactive, storytelling workshops based on his bestselling series of Peter’s Railway books.
  • Every Wednesday and Thursday throughout the summer break magician, Greg Chapman, will be back entertaining everyone with a unique blend of close up magic, juggling and storytelling.
  • Over the Bank Holiday weekend children’s entertainer Professor Crump will be visiting. Standing over 8 feet tall in his stilts, the professor is a master at engaging and entertaining children.

Bucks Goat Centre

Fully open for visits, you can meet the animals including Tarquin the llama and Imbuzi the boer goat. For any budding farmers they are running summer experience sessions for children aged 8yrs – 14yrs.

The Story Museum, Oxford, OX1

The Oxford Story Museum have lots of events and workshops happening throughout the summer holidays, there is something for everyone. We mentioned a few below but visit their website for full details and timings.

  • Drag Queen Story Time – Story time with extra sparkle! Drag Queens and Kings delve into The Story Museum’s collection and celebrate their favourite story heroes. Expect drama, laughter, songs and the occasional lip sync battle.
  • Sunshine Story Walk – Guided themed family walk from the museum, through the city and to Christ Church Meadow.
  • Lego Master Builders Club workshops – Something for all the young engineers, architects and inventors! Build a story with LEGO! For children aged 5y – 7y and  8y – 11yrs.
  • Roald Dahl and the Imagination Seekers – An immersive and interactive performance, involving games and imaginative play, while exploring Roald Dahlʼs extraordinary stories.

Explore somewhere new with Treasure Map Trails, illustrated maps available for several towns near and far, including Marlow, Buckingham, Oxford, High Windsor, Cambridge and London. Perfect for outdoor adventures with children aged 5 to 12.
